In game three of a season long rivalry match, the Boys in Purple scratched and clawed their way to a one run victory over arch enemy Blue Sky.

Blue Sky led off the game with an impressive seven run first inning, but the large lead was short lived. The Modsquad bats came alive in the bottom half, scoring five runs thanks to a lead off home run hit by Chris Iannantuoni followed by an Eric Klein two run moon shot. Iannantuoni continued his impressive season, collecting four hits and driving in three runners.

The Coaching Brain Trust, hard at work.
Modsquad team and fan favorite, Mr. Greg Anderson, drilled a two run home run in the second inning and anchored the infield at first base.

Despite a quiet night at the plate, Modsquad left fielder Chris Lima allegedly made a full extension diving catch late in the game to save a bunch of runs. However, since his wife didn't take a photo of it, how can we be sure it actually happened?

The Modsquad battled back in the bottom half of the sixth inning, with Todd Dias driving in the go ahead and eventual game winning run. Blue Sky made things interesting in the top of the seventh inning, but the Boys in Purple were able to shut the door, escaping with a one run, 15-14 victory over the creators of Kristen's favorite cartoon movie (Ice Age, she's got a thing for the squirrel).
