Pernod showed up to Delfino Park last night looking to overtake the first place Modsquad and did just that, running the 2010 Season champs into the ground; 15-4.

A few defensive miscues and an infectious case of the offensive flu kept the Boys in Purple from even getting close.

"They were just a good hitting team" said one Modsquad player. "We played back, they'd drop one in. We move in, and they'd launch one over our head".

The Squad began to show some signs of life in the third inning. Julio led off the inning with a single, and after a four pitch walk to Robert Pezzullo, 2011 season superstar Alfrin Vallejo drove in two runs and scored on a Chris Iannantuoni single.

Modsquad utility-man Chris Lima, battling a f'd up hamstring all game, had this to say about the loss: "Get that f'ing microphone out of my face, man. This loss hurt".

Always a class act.

Modsquad IT Specialist Julio Gonzalez helped everyone understand the true definition of Karma, as he nailed the home plate umpire in the nether regions with a wild bat toss. For those of you who don't know the back story, this is the same umpire that told Kyle to stop complaining and "getting hit in the head with a bat is part of the game" after Kyle complained to him last season about the opposing team batters backswings laying waste to our beloved catcher's mainframe.
