Despite numerous injuries and missing key players, the Modsquad Softball team performed valiantly in their 16-12 loss to Blue Sky.

The Modsquad shot off some fireworks of their own in preparation for the 4th of July. Alfrin Vallejo continued his outstanding display of season long hitting, going 3-5 with a home run and four RBIs. Chris Lima added a two run home run in the fifth inning, finishing the day; 3-4 with a walk and two RBI. Eric Klein collected three hits in his debut at first base, while  the double play tandem of John Leahy and Nick DiFranza each added three hits of their own.

Robert Pezzullo knocked in the game tying run in the top of the sixth inning with a single to left field (his second hit of the game).

The Squad held their collective breaths as former Skipper Alan Brogdon exited the game in the bottom of the second with a calf injury. Team Physician Assistant Kristen Lima quickly administered her medical magic, but Brodgon was scratched from the lineup.

Blue Sky took advantage of a tired and depleted outfield, knocking a couple balls over Lima's head in left field. Lima, still struggling with a something-something hamstring injury, misjudged a couple of long fly balls, giving Blue Sky some unneeded extra runs.
