Graphic artists, animators, editors, and guys who spend way too much of their time with cartoons bested the Modsquad last Friday; 19-10.
"Their nerds were stronger than our nerd," said Modsquad third baseman Eric Klein.
The Modsquad suffered its second consecutive loss; this one in part to a depleted roster and excellent hitting by the opposing team.
Making her long awaited debut, 2009 Modsquad Fan of the Year "Rebecca Smith started the game behind the plate. In her two innings of work, Smith performed quite well behind the dish.
Modsquad hitting coach Frank Vitale attempted to teach Smith the finer points of hitting before the game, but Smith struck out in her only at bat.
When asked about her strikeout, Smith replied "Well, didn't Lima strike out the other day? By all accounts I should be batting third and playing left field."
Truer words were never spoken on the diamond.
Chris I led the team offensively, collecting three hits. The star center fielder scored two runs and drove in two.
Frank Vitale collected his tenth hit of the season, putting him past last year's total of nine.
The Modsquad's next game is Tuesday, June 22nd at 7:00pm against Reuters.
