The details are in; the contract is signed, the "i's" are dotted and the "t's" are crossed.

The Modsquad Softball team announced (via teleconference in Kansas City) that they've made their biggest addition to the roster in team history.

Literally.

Former NBA star, Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo (Dikembe Mutombo for short) has agreed to join the Modsquad Softball team for the upcoming 2010 season.

Dikembe is slated to play left field and bat third first base and bat fifth.

"We're excited to add a guy who can bring a lot to the table" said Skipper Brogdon, "His shot blocking and rebounding skills will fit right in to an already talented lineup."

When asked how he felt about losing his starting position, Big Joel replied "Short".

The 7'2'' tall Mutombo plans to use Todd Dias as his bat. Frankly, Mutombo should be swinging a 48 oz, but Dias (46 oz) is the closest thing we have in the bat bag.

What can you expect from Mutombo this season? Our forecast is plenty of infield hits, as #55 is basically 3 steps away from first when he leaves the batter's box.
