In what felt like a heated playoff game, the "Boys in Purple" were able to fend off rival Blue Sky in a wild one. The 'Squad came out on top, 19-18.

Modsquad IT guys Eric Klein and Kyle Bobek were key to the Modsquad victory; combining to lead the lower half of the lineup by going 6-7 with three runs and three rbi's.

Nick DiFranza and Chris Iannantuoni each homered and drove in a combined seven runs. Big Joel and Scott Berns each tripled and drove in three runners apiece.

Modsquad defense was lacking at times, but thanks to the steady offensive outburst, the defensive miscues weren't as "game changing" as they could have been.

"Defensively frustrating game," remarked one of the Modsquaders as they walked off the field after giving up five runs in the top of the third.

The Boys in Purple collected twenty seven total hits, eight of which were for extra bases.

The 'Squad's next game is this Friday at 5:45 against Reuters.
