Despite outscoring their nemesis Jackson Lewis 8-0 in the first two innings, the Modsquad couldn't put away the first place team; eventually losing 10-9 in extra innings.

For those in attendance, the loss was reminiscent of a Dickens novel; it was indeed a tale of two teams.

The Boys in Purple sent all nine batters to the plate in the first two innings, jumping on top of Jackson Lewis with an eight run outburst. They didn't score again until the top of the eighth despite numerous innings in which the lead off hitters reached base.

Big Joel was dominant through the first few innings, but walks and a few defensive mishaps gave way to Jackson Lewis' late inning heroics. Modsquad outfielder Chris Lima made an eye popping grab, but later would misplay two fly balls that led to some costly runs crossing the plate.

The Squad left eleven runners on base, five of which were in scoring positing.

Nick DiFranza continued his MVP caliber season, collecting four hits and driving in two. Alan Brogdon and Lima each added three hits in the loss.
