A rematch against Dunne’s Pub clearly showed the MODSQUAD was thirsty for another win. What looked to be almost a football score, MODSQUAD ties for first with 27-4 win.
Early in the game, the bats were on fire with Todd Dias starting off the game with a solid single followed by Chris Iannantuoni’s RBI double. Kyle Bobek and Joel Abrams each collected a hit and RBI, starting the game with a huge lead.
Another hitting blaze heated up in the second. With the first three batters to the plate walking to load the bases, Modsquad shortstop Nick DiFranza hit a grand slam rocket over the Pub’s left fielder. Later in the fifth, DiFranza went yard, collecting his sixth home run of the season and racked up seven RBIs for the night. Greg followed DiFranza with a triple and scored on Joel’s base hit
Sparks were flying again in the fourth as the Modsquad batted around. Dias, Greg, Joel and Bobek each collected hits and tallied up a few more runs.
The Modsquad’s patience at the plate showed as they walked home from the Pub with seven walks, topping last Friday’s record.
“Big Joel” pitched a gem, keeping the Pub dry for the majority of the game. Bobek, filling in at the hot corner, contributed to a strong defensive display by the Modsquad on the field.
With a few of the Modsquad players down in Ft. Lauderdale for the Summer Staff meeting, Modsquad left fielder, Chris Lima was telling fellow teammates and fans down in Ft. Lauderdale that the Modsquad was victorious with a 27-0 win (before the game even started). Shall we say he had a Psychic moment!?
Modsquad shuts down the Pub with a 27-4 win! Modsquad players hope to keep their bats on fire as they finish up their last few regular season games and keep the fire burning for the playoffs.

Anonymous Said,
That Bladel really knows how to pen a story. If she just changes her name to something a little more lyrical, she could get a Times byline.
