Poor communication in the infield, sloppy play in the outfield, and a significantly weaker showing with the bats could only mean one thing for the Modsquad:
A 12-1 victory over JH Cohen.
Chris Iannantuoni and Nick DiFranza led the offensive charge this week; the two Modsquad stars combined for five hits, five runs batted in, and three runs scored. Iannantuoni doubled and tripled and DiFranza collected his second home run of the season.

Todd Dias continued his hot start at the plate, collecting two hits, but it was his defensive performance late in the game that turned a few heads.
After making a tough running catch earlier in the game, Dias looked to have had a beat on a ball hit deep into right field. Just before making a run saving catch, Dias decided to play possum, falling onto the outfield grass and missing the catch. Chris Iannantuoni was there to back up the play and eventually miss the cut off man.
With the win, the Modsquad improves to 3-0 on the season and have outscored their opponents 46-1.
The Modsquad looks to continue its winning streak against Jackson Lewis next Tuesday, 5:45 at Delfino Park.

You have no evidence I missed a ball! The outfield was slippery! The sun got in my eyes! Chris I. called for it!

I'm sure this won't reflect poorly during the Awards Ceremony at the end of the season. I can't imagine anyone remembering this more than a couple of days or so...but I've been known to be wrong before.
