Big Joel took the mound and shut down Reuters bats, allowing only five hits in five innings as the Modsquad cruised to a 15-0 victory last night.

Nick DiFranza and Chris Lima each homered in the win. The pair also combined to drive in seven of the team's fifteen runs.

Other Opening Day stellar performances included three hit nights for Scott Berns, Vince Sampugnaro, and Big Joel. Frank Vitale also collected two hits for the Squad.

The team's defense easily matched the offensive performance; not a single error was made and everyone (including Iannantuoni) hit their cutoff man. Sampugnaro, in his debut behind the plate, called one of the finest games ever pitched in Modsquad history.

Special thanks to the two fans who showed up to opening day. They, through some Front Office mishap, did not receive their free high fives. When confronted about the situation, the PR team admitted their mistake and promised that the high fives will be sent through inter-office mail first thing in the morning.

The Modsquad's next game is against Dunnes Pub, next Tuesday at 7:00.
